In 2021, XiWei started her youtube channel to amplify the awareness of the adoptee experience. She found that there was a lack of general awareness to what the actual adoptee experience and wanted to dismantle stereotypes and preconceived opinions that were placed onto adoptees.

Growing up and Coming out of the Fog, XiWei’s personal experience with her own adoption has been both a gift but also a very big burden. In XiWei’s youtube channel, she talks about the harsh reality of being an adoptee through processing in grief, loss, attachment, and coming to a more confidently identifying self. Thanks to years of therapy, XiWei has become more sure of herself and has felt moved to be a voice and advocate for her fellow adoptees.
